Re: Steam sims 3 key problem

@BllackBarbiie  Once you've launched the game for the first time, you may be able to see the product key in your computer's registry.  Hit Windows key-R, enter "regedit" without quotes, and open this pathway:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > WOW6432Node > Electronic Arts > Sims(Steam) > The Sims 3

The base game key should work, but if it doesn't, or if you don't see the key even after launching, you'll need to contact EA customer support (again) and ask that Sims 3 be added to your account.  You can upload proof of purchase and ownership—an email receipt and a screenshot of your Steam game library should do it—when you submit the help request.  I realize that the last EA support rep wasn't helpful, but this is the only way to add the game to your Origin account if the CD key isn't present or doesn't work.
