Re: Stones Throw Greenhouse not working

Just to make it a bit clearer (no offense Rum) - if you have Seasons, you must tile the roof first and then put the glass roofs over. As you put the glass roof on, the tile will disapppear magically. 

There was a fixed version released for the actual lot - I assume you know that?

I will be trying both of your suggestions shortly and let you know how it went. I had tried building a two story building, with the roof tiles added first, then the greenhouse roof decorations. It did not work, the snow still got in and on top of that it tells me I "must plant outdoors" when I try to plant something. I hope the soil from into the future works with regular planting as well and not just trees.

Roughly it was going to be a 6x12 square, 2 story building. I had planned on putting that growing station, or whatever it is called in there, then have extra room for additional planting.

Also, I had downloaded the updated version, as far as I can tell. Someone had linked me to it in the sims store, and it says that I owned that item, so I am thinking that I have the updated version. Hopefully they wouldn't still be selling the old version when there is an updated one.

Rum, your solution worked perfectly. Thank you so very much. I had spent hours (over 3 days) on this trying to get it to work, and trying various things that I saw when googling the problem. No one had ever mentioned this before, and it's perfect.

FYI, I did not have to plant the tree before building a greenhouse. After I built the (6x12, 2 story) greenhouse per your instructions, I started all the planting, and it allowed me to plant an apple tree.

great to hear you have a working greenhouse 🙂  i even have a money tree in my sims kitchen using the soil rug which is funny when i go up a floor to the bedroom it looks like he has a pile of notes on the floor :D

Oh crap, I came across a problem.

It is currently winter in my sims world, and my plants have gone dormant. Is there some fix to where my plants inside a greenhouse do not go dormant?

I really wish they had spent more time on this content working like it's suposed to.

thats normall when you plant in winter indoors even in in  a planter bowl the plants will be dormant for about a sim day

Haha, it's not normal in a real greenhouse. The whole point of a greenhouse is to be able to grow plants year round. I stupidly assumed that if I bought a greenhouse for Sims 3 that it would work similar to what it is supposed to do.

ikr 🙂  it does the same if i plant in winter in the sims house using either the planter bowls or the rugs  the plant is dormant for a sim day
