Re: The Great Pyramid bug

@barbiwii  Do you use mods, or are you willing to try a few?  If you have mods installed, please let me know which ones; if you're interested in adding some, let me know.

The only non-mod-related solution I can think of is bulldozing and replacing the lot.  First, you'd need to enter these cheats, in order:

testingcheatsenabled true

enablelotlocking on

Click the lot tag for the Great Pyramid, then click the lock in the lower-right corner of the pop-up.  This will enable you to edit the lot.  Save it to the bin, bulldoze it, and place the bin copy.  Then go back to live mode.

If your sim is on the lot when you bulldoze it, the sim will be sent back to base camp, so if you don't want that to happen, have them move a short distance off the lot.

I would also recommend that you use "save as" to rename the save (so the original remains intact as a backup), quit, and delete the cache files in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 before reloading the game.  For reference, the cache files are:

  • CASPartCache.package
  • compositorCache.package
  • scriptCache.package
  • simCompositorCache.package
  • socialCache.package

This should fix any issues with the lot itself but not with your sim or with anything else in the world that might be broken.  There are other non-mod-related steps you can take to address those potential issues, but they'd require sending your sim home first.
