Re: why is my game crashing when giving birth?

@ZP4RKER  There are a couple different reasons the game might crash when a sim gives birth.  One is bad custom content, especially if it's being assigned to the new baby.  Another is the infinite birth loop, a known bug since the beginning of Sims 3.  That can be fixed by adding an NRaas mod that we're not allowed to name here.  But it starts with a W and can be found on the NRaas site, or you could google "infinite birth loop" and see what you get.

The pregnant sim appearing nude is almost certainly a cc issue as well, although the issue could be the outfit assignment rather than the clothing itself.  The solution is to change her outfits manually, which you can do with NRaas MasterController; I'd try this before she goes to give birth again.

I completely forgot that I downloaded sims so just assumed that I had no CC, so thanks for pointing that out.

As for changing her outfit, I'm unable to get any interactions when clicking on her ☹️ It might be because I've saved it at the point where the task is set to have baby at hospital and they're outside the hospital about to walk into it. Is there some other way to access CAS without doing it directly through that sim?  I managed to change her outfits and believe I have removed all CC from her and now it's not crashing but they both get stuck inside the hospital forever.

Is there some way to kill the baby? (As harsh as that sounds)

@ZP4RKER  If there is only one baby, as in, you're not seeing the infinite birth loop, you could try resetting the sims instead.  With NRaas MasterController, click on City Hall and select NRaas > MC > Sim > Advanced > Reset Sim, choose the two from the menu, and MC will rebuild them from the available data.  Without MC, you could use the resetsim cheat, but it only moves them and clears their action queues, so it's not as thorough.

You could also use MC to "totally annihilate" the baby, also under Advanced, but it doesn't sound like that's necessary here, nor would it help if the mother is stuck too.

I reset both sims using MC, still crashing after naming the baby. Is there any way to confirm if a sim has no CC on them? I'm pretty sure I removed it all but I could be missing something.

@ZP4RKER  There's no efficient way, no, other than removing all your custom content or running the save in a clean user folder.  Additionally, if the baby is being assigned bad cc, the game may crash before you have a chance to do anything about it.

In this case, I'd try playing in a clean folder just to make sure the cc really is the issue.  Move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you open the launcher, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  You can copy and paste your save rather than dragging and dropping so that the original remains intact, with all its cc, in the old folder; the point here is to find out whether you can get through the birth without a crash.  Feel free to add your NRaas mods to the new folder, but don't move over any other mods or any custom content.

That seemed to have worked! Thank you so much! I was low-key considering just starting a new save but you saved my save, so thank you so much!
