Recorded video won't play!

I recently had to reboot my computer back to factory settings and re-install the sims3. I recorded video in the game, but for some reason im unable to see the video. I've updated my software such as windows media player, and divx but the file still doesnt play. Ive uploaded the file to the sims 3 website and it plays on there, but not on my computer. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
