This example is more complicated because it uses CFE. You must be comfortable with CFE (or delete the house) OR download the one I uploaded to my studio: http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=8565894

Cntl/Shift/C: testingcheatsenabled true, constrainfloorelevation false, CAREFULLY extend lawn to one tile away from deck area of gym, which I extended two tiles toward the lawn as well.
Cntl/Shift/C: constrainfloorelevation true, testingcheatsenabled false. < Very important step!
Move garage door wall in two tiles to allow car room to get to garage. (May need moveobjects on/off.)
Add stairs from deck to lawn holding alt when placing (to keep ground from sinking much).
At the place where I added modular stairs to lead down to the lower level. Add stairs to connect tile to the raised lawn holding alt as you place them again. (I did delete some foundation on the lower patio and redid the stairs to allow more room on ground.)

Flatten the ground two-tiles wide on the lower level from modular stairs to normal stairs for the patio.
I moved the middle bedroom to the basement and the kitchen and living room furniture to the middle. I deleted the extra interior walls on the middle floor, but left the bathroom in place. I placed the dining table and chairs on the patio.
To avoid problem with stacked stairs, I moved the bottom spiral stairs to the hallway by the bathroom door. (I extended the wall out one tile to make the hallway wider.)
