sending house/lot to the game launcher

I built a house and want to upload it onto the exchange.  But when I press share, after about 30 secs,  it just says failed to share (house name).  I purchased the game Sims 3 plus seasons from Origin about 3 weeks ago, it is fully patched and everything has been working fine.  Why won't it send the file to the game launcher?

I can now export!! Here is what I did.  I moved my saved sims folder to the desktop.  Then I used the Method by Mell to go thru my CC in the DCCache. I only have 6 files.  I deleted a few more CC. Copied the new dbc files to my DCCache. I also deleted 3 lots I never play.  While I was going thru my dbc files, I found CC I had deleted a while ago and some I deleted a couple days ago from the launcher. Yet still there.  I also found a particular cabinet that has been well talked about on the internet that I know I never downloaded myself. It was mentioned on Crinricts blog site.  So what do I think?  It is a sim.  Possibly was a lot.  I'm leaning more towards a sim.

So now I need to learn how to remove bad CC from a Sim and save a clean sim.  I know that Crinrict does talk about it on her site, but I could use a bit of help understanding exactly how to do it.

another idea of mine are you on line in game when uploading ? i wonder if logging out from the game and the launcer then if in the middle of gameplay  save and quit stay logged out relaunch the laucher, back to your game  try the export again then save and quit, launch the launcher log in and see if the file is in the uploads tab and upload it

So I started this thread and I am back to the problem again.  So I did what Crinrict told me to do way back and I took m existing game and renamed it to .old and started a new game.  Sure enough I could export from that game to the launcher.  So in the new game I started installing my CC a little at a time, checking to make sure I could export from the game, then saved and closed to install a little more CC.  I now have all my CC installed and I can still export from the new game.

Just before I lost the ability to export I purchased a bunch of stuff from the store.  No worlds, just objects and venues.  Then I noticed that the launcher showed the items were installed but not showing up in game.  In particular I purchased Grandpa's Grove, Bohemian Garden and the Monarch Suite that definitely wouldn't properly install in the game.  So I did Crinrict's solution found here:

    http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/Sims-3-store-content-will-not-install/m-p/46724

and it worked.  That is when I noticed I couldn't export.  Which is why I started the new game to only install CC to try and determine if it was a particular CC item(s).

I have tried going back to my original game that I couldn't export from and deleted all my saved towns/games and CC from the launcher I no longer wanted or never use.  I deleted CC a couple of weeks ago but this time I got really brutal about it.  Still cannot export.  Next I am going to install all the store stuff a little at a time to the new game unless I figure out what to do next.  Or start another new game and only install store items a few at a time and see if I can export.  I'm fine with starting over in a new game, however it is all the in game saves and the saved collections I hate to lose.  Is there a maximum amount of items a launcher can hold?  Ive had no new CC recently so I have also wondered if it is a particular sim that only causes issues when brought out to play although that seems unlikely.

I still have the same computer as the first time with Windows 7

hiya bmit  those saves and the saved collections you can keep copy of and place back in when you need them in the game for your playing, there is always a chance that a sim gets something attached to it which can getting it exported difficult or the name can stop it from uploading i.e.. has the same or similar name of another upload or a special character in the name can stop the upload or even a .

an dyes in particular sim can  only cause that

    Howdy Rumbutter

Forgot to mention that I tried your logging in and out of the launcher and the sims3.  That didn't work either.  Please explain how to save my saves and collections?

what I do is copy the saves+ my collection folders oh and the saved sims folder too  to the desktop and to a thumb drive  for back ups in case something does go wrong with a save I have the back ups of them  ( not just the back in the sims 3 folder which can be renamed if a save file goes wrong ) then if I need to test something in game and do not want to use my ones i'm playing  I move the saves folder to the desktop launch the game start a new game then test what I need to test

comes in handy if ever a clean install is needed as the saved sims folder has any sim I made In there then with the clean install I place the saved sims folder back all my created sims are then back in CAH, saves etc ,crin has a in her blog what to back up should you need it , even sometimes too something a simple as a patch or update can somehow make saves and setting go missing so in order to prevent that back up your files before updating uninstalling or reinstalling

    edit to add a p.s.

probably best to back up your store downloads folder too any time you download an new item back up your downloads folder too easier to install the items rather than having to dl from the purchase history all the time
