it's the tiger shark that will fight with your sim and the fight just happens try using the watch shark option click on a shark option watch shark BUT i kinda helped mine along i had my sim go buy meat and fish kept it in the inventory the attack happened quicker word of advise when you get your sim to scuba dive for the shark fight save the game just in case the shark fight does happen and your sim gets killed (unless you want a ghost sim) you will have the save to go back to, you have to watch it a few times and eventually it will attack you It worked for me took sometime to get it though
if your using a mermaid to get the shark attacked it won't work them they are immune to shark attacks but they can call/summon sharks so they might not be attacking the sim because the mersim is there
so if you have CC and the attck still took place then it's not your CC
@rumbutter: it worked twice and i beat the shark both times; now when i try to get my sim to watch the shark, the shark disappears. i have plenty of fish in the inventory and the shark still doesn't attack. the shark attack does not happen. i had the non mermaid sim underwater by herself and she still wasn't getting attacked; the shark disappeared. the only reason i brought the mermaid sim down too was so she could summon sharks so the non mermaid sim could get attacked.
i wonder if the spawner is corrupted somehow, did you try a different dive lot ? or are all dive lots affected ?
i have tried multiple dive lots. i also have twallan's master mod so i tried resetting every object in the game, but it messed up the graphics on my game and i could only move through an area of Isla Paradiso. thankfully i saved my game before doing so!! but then i tried resetting the shark; i had a mariner gnome in my sim's pocket, idk if that had anything to do with it. so far, still no attacks
i think what i would try at this stage is two things
1 go to edit town and save a copy of the sim/family to the library start a new game and see if the sim can get the shark attacks in case a save game corruption happened in the one your playing in
2 is make a copy of the save game and the back up to the desktop then move the mods folder to the desktop clear the cache launch the game and see if the issues persists
delete the cache files go to electronic arts/the sims 3/
•CasPartCache.package
•compositorCache.package
•scriptCache.package
•simCompositorCache.package
•socialCache.package.packageit's safe to delete these files as a new ones will regenerate
i'll post this in the helpers corner to see if anyone has other suggestions/soloutions
