@DarkBunniDNR and @IEqual2D Have you specifically tried installing the store content into a clean user folder, as described here?
Please try it if you haven't already.
If that doesn't work, please let me know what you see when you're installing the content: does it not download, does the install process fail, does it show as installed but not load in-game, do you see any error messages, etc.? A screenshot or two would be helpful as well, for reference.
Hi,
Same issue as everybody else, I tried your proposed solution from this other thread but it didn't run smoothly at all and while I may be doing something wrong, it doesn't seem to work for me.
When I tried to move the sims folder to my desktop, it kept cancelling itself and telling me that the program was running and that I needed to close it before attempting to modify anything (nothing was running, like EA App wasn't even running).
I restarted my computer a few times before it allowed me to move the folder to my desktop. But then, when I try to open the launcher, it asks me to download the game. It kinda makes sense to me since I moved the folder out of where it should be but then I'm wondering, how do you manage to get the launcher to open in this case ?
Other weird thing is that I happen to have two Sims 3 folders, one under "Program Files > Origin" and one under "Documents > Electronic Arts" and they do not contain the same things at all, I don't know if it's normal or not..
Sorry if my issue is easily fixable or anything but I'm not very savy in folders and downloads management.

@lollyfarberabe The Sims 3 folder in Program Files contains the game's program files, as in, what Origin or the EA App installs. The folder in Documents > Electronic Arts is the user folder. If you move the game's program files, then of course the EA App is going to think Sims 3 is no longer installed and prompt you to download it again. That's why the suggestion is specifically to move the folder in Documents.
The error you saw when trying to move the folder in Documents may be due to OneDrive, so please let me know whether it's running, even if you don't use it, and how full it is.

Thank you for the clarification. I know it may sound obvious to most people but as I said, I'm really not knowledgeable in this kind of matters...
So, I did as instructed and it seems to work. I'll see tomorrow if my store content stays installed or not after restarting my computer. If it does, many thanks to you for figuring out this solution, I've been struggling with this for nearly a week.

I can confirm that it is still working today.
Thank you again.
EDIT : Two items refuse to install telling me that I need an add-on but I have them all (and used these items before the EA App transition) and I've checked, I didn't lose any add-on during the transition.- puzzlezaddict3 years agoHero+
@lollyfarberabe Which items are these, and is the add-on required loading in-game?
