Sims 3 - Sunlit Tides Gold Addon Install Issues

Hi,

Today I purchased the Sunlit Tides Gold download addon. I also purchased the Supernatural game content and Ambitions.

Following the install, I get the option to download and install Sunlit Tides, which I did.

I get no options in the game for this. From within the game I can open the "Open Download Dashboard" and for Sunlit Tides and other addons I have are all listed as "Install Now". When trying the "Install Now" I am prompted to install a game patch, which I do, then it installs. Still no joy, the content is not there.

When returning to the game launcher (after exiting the game) I then see 2 addons for Sunlit Tides, both of which are not installed.

Please help with this... my wife (across the room) has no problems with this. The only difference is that she does not have the Supernatural expansion.

My IT background hazards a guess at a patch/content conflict with the expansion pack.

Many thanks in advance.

Rick.

  • Ok. Try the following

    • Go to documents\electronicarts\thesims3\DCCache
    • Move all files *.ebc and missingdeps.idx to the desktop (or some other location)
    • Go to documents\electronicarts\thesims3\InstalledWorlds and delete all files from Store Worlds (Riverview, Sunlit Tides, Lucky Palms ..)
    • Go to documents\electronicarts\thesims3\DCBackup and delete all files. You only really need the ccmerged.package file in there. The rest is junk. Since we're reinstalling all Store Content, the ccmerged.package file will be recreated, so don't worry about it.
    • Now all your Store Content will be uninstalled. That's how it's supposed to be at this point
    • If you still have the downloaded files, you can start reinstalling. Start with Sunlit Tides and check after the installation if it's in the game or not
    • If Sunlit Tides works fine, install the rest of your Store content. Starting with worlds, lots, set then single items. Install them in groups and not in one go. The files in DCCache should be around 200 - 500 MB depending on your machine.
    • If you don't have the files, you can redownload them from your Purchase History.

  • What is your base game version right now ?

To find out, open your launcher and hover over the little base game icon in the lower left part of the launcher. It should say 1.38.

Is nothing from the world installed or 'just' the world missing ? Do you have a lot of Store content ?

I would not be able to tell you if anything from the world is installed or not.

It appears that all other store content is not installing either. I only have 4 other items in store content.

Yes, you need to reinstall everything.

But first lets see about sunlit tides since you should install that first.

What error are you getting ?
