sims 3 64 bit launcher pack icons

Hi, I still have grey icons in my launcher. How can I fix this? Sorry, didn't know where to put it.

I placed the answer also on this thread. At least for me this was the fix:

@puzzlezaddictI did! But it is working now. This is what I did:

1: Delete the game with all the files included. Just clear everything from the sims.
    2. Delete origin
    3. Clear cache in terminal by using the command ( sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder )and restarted my mac
    4. download origin again.
    3. download the sims 3 base game.
    4. open sims 3 launcher and make sure the icon is lighted. The EA Desk told me it shows when the launcher verified ur packs correctly. Even without it I could play the game.
    5. download an EP
    6. Open launcher again and check again if it is lighted up.
    7. etc download more just repeat the last 2 steps till u have everything u want.
    8. Download from the sims 3 store 1 by one. Not the download all button, because it will make the launcher fail downloading.

I hope it is useful for some 🙂

  • @daisyorgana  It might be an issue on EA's end, in which case there's not much you can do about it.  But you can try repairing the game in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 3 icon, and select Repair.

This shouldn't affect your ability to play though.  I've seen numerous people with the same issue report that their packs still load fine in-game.

  • @daisyorgana After some play around I got my all my ep and sp icons to light up on the sims 3 launcher. Heres what I did to get mine, hope it helps.

Quit Origin and the Sims 3 Launcher
Option/Alt key on Finder Click Go - then Library
Navigate Application Support - Origin (Keep this Window open)
Reset Origin - Now the origin folder is gone
Click to open Origin again, but don't click on anything just leave it on the agreement page
On the finder window that was left open the Origin folder is created again, Open it and Create the infamous "Installer Data" folder.
Now go back to the Origin app and follow the prompts and sign in. All the ep and sp plist that you have/ origin has activated in your account should now be in the installer data folder and it should appear in the sims 3 launcher.
You might have to repair and update the game in origin app to get the sims 3 base game to light up in your launcher afterwards as well.

This is the method that worked for me, I noticed that Origin didn't create an installer data for me, and also origin only goes through all the EPs and SPs only after a reset, no matter how many times I repair or update it usually just went through the base game and not the other packs.
    I hope this helps
  • i tried reset my origin and fix my game but all icons still grey, but ep contents didn't be influenced

@daisyorgana  Are all your packs showing in-game?  If so, I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Hopefully the issue will be fixed sooner or later, but it shouldn't affect your ability to play.

If it really bothers you though, you could try the suggestion from @AeiaVio earlier in this thread.  I'd be interested to know whether it works.  I'm not sure you'd need to actually create the Installer Data folder again—maybe repairing Sims 3 in Origin would be enough.  But it's easy enough to test.
