Hi, I'm also running into some issues with the Sims 3 64 bit after updating my system to Mac OS Big Sur. First I noticed the graphics were acting funny; the world edges on Map view now look pixelated and ugly (see screenshot). Then, after only a few minutes of gameplay, the screen freezes up. I don't get any error message, the game just freezes indefinitely. Strangely, I can still hear some background noises like Sims talking, ambient noises, etc. and the P button still pauses the game. However, I'm unable to move the screen (the mouse still works but can't select anything), making the game unplayable.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, though my same family save file still showed up after reinstalling. The same issues with the pixelated world edges and the freezing after a few minutes still occur. Help, please? I was so hesitant to update to Big Sur for this reason, and now I'm sorry I did.

So just delete the save file from the initial menu screen? Or do I need to do something fancy with files and documents?

So, based on previous responses in this thread I thought to uninstall my game, move the Electronic Arts folder to my desktop, and reinstall hoping for a clean refresh. I was able to make a new family/save under Moonlight Falls, but tried making new saves in Sunset Valley and Bridgeport (for experimentation purposes) and the game either froze up during the loading screen, or the display started flashing until I had to force quit. Also, the pixelated map edges are still an issue. Is there anything additional I can do? I've attached my device config log.

@mromero1010 I've merged your posts with a more current thread on this issue, one that I've flagged. I don't know whether there's a good fix for the problem right now, although we can hope that Apple will address this with a graphics driver update at some point.
Please click Me Too on the first post of this thread.
By the way, it would be helpful if you could test each world you own, all in a clean user folder (other than store worlds if you own any), and let me know which worlds are affected. You don't need to post a screenshot for all of them; I'd just like a list. It's possible this is an issue with how certain worlds are rendered and not others, and knowing that would be useful.

I saw your posts on another thread and we're having the same crashing report. When you uninstalled TS3 how did you go about it?

@ayyysims3 If you want to uninstall the 64-bit version of Sims 3, just open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 3 icon, and select Uninstall. If you're looking to start fresh with new saves, you don't need to uninstall; simply remove the Sims 3 user folder from Documents > Electronic Arts. The game will create a new folder, with no saves or other content, the next time you open the launcher.
