In the ingame sound settings tab the music setting accounts for both ingame stereo music and general world/menu music is there anyway to turn only world/menu music off but keep the ingame stereo music? open to using mods for this.
@ChipWasntHere You do need to either use a mod or tweak some game files yourself. I can't link anything directly, but this discussion provides the information you need.

I did search the Sims Asylum, where Twoftmama hosts her work, and didn't find what you're looking for, just a set of mods to mute in-game sounds from professions like Ghost Hunter and the ones from Showtime. But you could ask there too. You do need to be signed in to see anything on that site.
