Sims 3 Cheats are not working

Hello,

I like to build buildings in The Sims 3

I have always made a Sim then, placed him/her on an empty lot

Then, opened the cheat console Ctrl+Shift+C

Then, TestingCheatsEnabled true to activate the cheat menu

Then, typed familyFunds my sim's last name then 555555 then hit enter.

He/She would get that amount placed into their bank. No problem.

Then, I would close the cheat console TestingCheatsEnabled false

Then, I would build away, and have hours of fun.

For some reason that cheat isn't working anymore.

In fact the only cheat that works for me is Kaching for 1000 each time entered.

That will take me forever to get enough money to build.

How can I make the cheat "familyFunds" work again?

Someone told me the New Origin is blocking the cheats.

I don't know if that is true or not?

Thank You!

PS: My main Sim Family, I do not use cheats of any kind.

I have never used third party cheats/hacks/mods in Sims 3, never will.

I did use a third party mod once in Sims 2.

I got a warning from EA saying, if I kept using the mods, my account will be suspended for life.

That was enough to make me stop using third party cheats/hacks/mods.

  • Good news for me,

I deleted the the Bubbles Sim family.

Restarted the game, then made a new Bubbles family.

Now the cheats work just like they are supposed to.

I guess it was some kind of glitch with that sim game file?

I Do thank you for your replies.

    Have a Good Day Everyone!

  • It wouldn't surprise me one bit that Origin is blocking and changing how things work in TS3, so they can promote TS4.  I have trouble with the Lifetime Rewards cheat and a couple of minor other ones not working, but the rest do work.  Tried everything from Resetting Sims, to Renaming, to starting over, and only rarely can I get the Life Time one to work.

@Capt_Odee  If you're talking about the clicking to add lifetime happiness points, that's always been a bit finicky and has nothing to do with Origin.  Which other cheats don't work?

The Origin version of Sims 3 is exactly the same as the other versions aside from the pack selector and the mandatory Origin tie-in.  Once the game is running, it's the same in any fully patched version (minus some obvious issues with the 64-bit Mac version).  There's no reason a cheat would work in the disc or Steam version of the game but not when it's run through Origin.
