Sims 3 disc authorization failure.

I recently purchased the Sims 3 starter pack, and all three discs are getting warnings saying there is a disc authorization failure. I tried what they said for Sims four but It didn't work. I have no idea what to do.

  • @Thatredhead42 Is your computer a pc or mac? First guess would be the optical drive can't read the authorization data on the dvd. EA creates the disc with extra tracks that can't be reproduced (they can but only certain optical drives can do it) easily. Most optical drives have no trouble reading this data but some can't read it at all or stop reading this data after some time. The process is known as over burning. I'm guessing this is a problem with the micro code on the optical drive itself. This code can be updated (if you can find it) but that still may not fix the problem. The fastest easiest way to fix this is to replace the dvd drive. If you have a pc (not mac) you can install Origin and redeem the game and update to game version 1.69 and you won't need a disc.
