Sims 3 EA App / Steam
Hello, I bought the sims 3 starter pack on origin about 3 weeks ago, I am currently using the EA App. I would like to know if there's a way to transfer that over to steam instead.
I already paid for the game so I don't want to/ can't really buy it again.
I would just stay on EA App but i keep seeing people say there's an issue when buying & trying to install new dlc so i'm very hesitant to buying any. Was that issue resolved? Will it be resolved soon? I'm a bit bored from only playing with late night so I want to buy other expansions.
I'm not sure what i should do.
Thank you so much!
@night0ceans There is no way to transfer Origin-owned packs to Steam. However, buying all of Sims 3 on Steam is cheaper than buying it on Origin: while the base game alone is $20 U.S., the Sims 3 Collection, including all packs except Katy Perry's Sweet Treats (which cannot be purchased anymore) is $133, which works out to $7 per pack. It's $66.50 while on sale if you can wait that long. That's in contrast to the $20 Origin and the EA App charge for each pack. So if you do want most or all packs, buying through Steam is a lot cheaper.
You can register your Steam-bought content in Origin as well. That won't help with the current download issue, but it will give you extra SimPoints to use on the store site: 1000 each for the base game and World Adventures.
As for the download issues with Origin and the EA App, no, they haven't been resolved, but we're still hopeful that will happen soon.
