actually it was loading the correct game to play that's the way the game plays once expansion or stuff pack is installed are installed they combine for playing and since island paradise is your newest installed released game you play from the island paradise one the game always plays from the newest released installed game
examples of how the games work you have the sims 3 base game then buy seasons you will play from the seasons expansion the base game will combine for playing then say you buy university the game will play from (again the others combine for playing ) that as it is your newest installed released game then say you buy an older released game like generations you will still play from the uni one as it is the newest released installed game you own and installed

The game will not play now though that's my problem. All the other games will play but generations won't play. I press the splay button on the game launcher but all I get is a black screen with the blue spinning circle. I wait forever and the game doesn't play
there is help here for that issue you having with black screen with the blue spinning circle i'll post this in the helpes corner to seek further assistance for you
