Sims 3 Expansions Split onto Two Accounts

So back when Origin first launched I accidentally made two accounts, one attached to my Sims 3 account and one with a different email. I've moved to a different computer and half of my sims 3 expansions are on the older account, and half are on the newer account. I can log into and download from both accounts, but if I launch sims 3 from one origin account I can't play the expansions on to the second account, with some exceptions.

The Older Account has: Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Ambitions, Late Night, Outdoor Living Stuff, and World Adventures

The Newer Account (Which has all my other origin games): Seasons, Showtime, Supernatural, University, Pets, Island Paradise, Into the Future, High End Stuff, and Fast Lane Stuff

For some reason Pets, Showtime, and Supernatural are accessible by both accounts but that's the only overlap

How can I get all my expansions on one account, or at least make the game recognize all the dlc I have on the computer even if it's on the other account?

  • @GrumpyMac  Sorry to hear that.  If the store content is only on one account, you can keep that one and have the other merged, and your content should stay intact.  But if that's not the account you'd like to keep overall, then maybe the most cost-effective approach is to buy the missing packs when they go on sale.  Origin will probably have a holiday sale soon, although it's not always clear what gets discounted.  Steam probably will too, and I've seen Sims 3 packs offered for as low as $5 each.

    It's too bad there isn't a better way to merge accounts, but that's unfortunately how it is.

    That's a problem, over the years I have bought quite a bit on the Sims Store ☹️

    That’s a good idea! I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll have to check what account(s) the store items are on. Do you know if merging the accounts would mess up other games like dragon age or mass effect?

    thank you so much!

    @GrumpyMac

    Theoretical it can influence every game, but from my experience it is more likely that games are affected that are moved into an account.

    It also is not a giving that problems occur. It can happen, but most of the time it works flawless.
