Sounds like it's something about the Sim. Maybe it's his outfit. They often give all kinds of issues if they are corrupt.
Try if you can manually change the Sim into his career outfit (using the dresser) and then change it. Then try accepting again.
I was unable to do that since the game was not registering that my Sim even had a career. I also noticed that all the community areas had lost the bubbles above them when I was in town view.
Even when you gave him one of the careers that did seem to work ?
As for the bublles, is that just for that Sim as well or for others too ? Are you sure there aren't any filters set for that ?
I couldn't give him the career. When I tried to it just forced a sim reset. And it happened to all sims in that family.
Yes, but you said you could give the Sim another career, right ? Does that not work either anymore ?
Although if it's all your Sims it might be a general corruption problem.
Could you start a new game with new Sims for testing purposes to see if it works then. You might need to cheat a bit to get there faster.
