You can scroll down to the bottom of the page, and then you can see all the demands for you to open the game. Maybe there is not enough space on your computer
Thank you for the suggestion. Looking into it it says despite being recently downloaded that it can't install as it is not updated therefore I think origin might need to adapt the patch for the MacBook.
@madsreisinger and @danielf0000 If your Mac runs Catalina, you won't be able to install Sims 3: the game is a 32-bit app, and Catalina is 64-bit only. There's a 64-bit version of Sims 3 for macOS coming at some point, although the last update was just that EA is still working on it.

In the interim, your only options are to play on another computer, to install Windows on your Mac (via Bootcamp or Parallels), or to install Mojave on an external hard drive. If you'd like more information about any of these options, please feel free to ask.
