Sims 3 won't load past launcher
Please help, I've followed all of EA's and these directions up until this point, I just can't get it past the Sims 3 Launcher. Every time I press play, it crashes and relaunches EA Desktop immediatel...
@franberryjuice02 I've split your post into its own thread since your issue is different than the one covered in the thread where you originally posted.
Please go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > CurrentGame and delete everything inside. This folder should always be empty unless you're running the game, but its contents don't always get deleted after a crash. While you're there, delete the five cache files in the Sims 3 folder as well. For reference:
If that doesn't help, please move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you open the launcher, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save.
So I've managed to get it to load again by moving it to a new user profile, but now my problem is that it won't save.
I've have NRaas Saver installed so that it saves once every 30 mins, but now when it saves (even if I try and save it like normal, or save as) it crashes back to the desktop.
Current game and all cache/bin files are cleared after every game and every crash.
@franberryjuice02 What antivirus do you use? If you only use Windows Defender, is Controlled Folder Access enabled?
Did this ever get solved? This seems to be my exact issue and I still don’t know how to get the game to load!!!!!!!
@LadybugJack This is the most common reason that Sims 3 won't load past the launcher:
So if your computer has a 12th-gen or newer Intel processor, please try the suggestions in the accepted solution. Otherwise, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

I moved the Sims3 folder to desktop and tried again and I am still in some hello loop of launcher/load screen without the game actually every loading. Help?
@midniterose1977 If your computer has a 12th-gen or newer Intel processor, please see the accepted solution of this thread:
Otherwise (or if you're not sure), please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

I’m having this same issue, step 1 didn’t work for me but your step 2 did!
What comes after you start a new save?
@Najjabailey Copy an old save to the new folder and see whether it loads. If it does, you can move over your other saves.
If you use mods or custom content, you'll need to test those files rather than adding them back. Some mods can cause a crash immediately after launch, for example NRaas Cupcake will do so if the Sims 3 Store bakery set is not also installed.
For more information about rebuilding your user folder, especially if Store content is involved (but even if it's not), please see this:

OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I ended up making a new folder like you said, I tested to see what cc or mod was crashing my game (using the sims dashboard) and I found a sims 4 file package in my mods folder. Thank you so much for the step by step advice, I definitely will be saving this for later!
