Sims 3 wont play on my PC

i have successfully downloaded Sims 3 onto my PC but when i click the 'play' button a black screen comes up and i can hear the disc spinning in its drive.. As if the game is going to loads and the blue circle(egg timer) comes onto the screen to load the game but after a few seconds a sounds comes through my speakers (kind of like a bell) and the loading stops and the screen stays blank and the game does not load. i have tried a few times and it keeps doing the same thing every time, so the game will not load at all and i havent even had chance to play it yet because it wont ever load and i bought this game brand new 3 days ago so maybe theres a problem with my PC, please could someone help?

  • If you are having issues loading your games or are having issues while playing your game, you should try the Repair Install feature in Origin. Note: This applies to newer games downloaded via Origin. Older games may not have the Repair Install function.

This feature checks all local files on your computer against the files Origin has on their servers. If there are any corrupt files or discrepancies, those files will be replaced or downloaded again. The file check can take up to an hour to complete depending on the type of hardware you are using. Repair Install will first 'Check' the installation you have on your computer and then automatically download any replacement or missing files.

To use Repair Install for your game:
Go to My Games in Origin
    Right-click the game image
    Select "Repair Install"

  • Did you download it from Origin or install it through the disc ?

How long did you wait ?

What's your operating system and what security software are you using ?
