@Bluebellflora I did what you said, and it didn't work. The only thing it did was remove all my custom content. The same thing happened when I tried to play. Thanks for trying to help, though.
It will create a new folder so the game is like new again. If the game then launches it means the error is in your user data somewhere. Have you installed any new mods recently that may have changed core game files and caused this?

- Approved@Bluebellflora No, I haven't installed any mods recently. Is there any other way to do this other than starting it fresh and it being almost like new again? I tried downloading and installing the superpatch thing and it didn't work...
So did you still get the black screen after moving the whole Sims 3 folder? Or did it launch like a new game? If it launched it's something in your user data. This could be your in game settings which are stored in the Options.ini file, or a corrupted save, or conflicting/dodgy CC.
