So did you still get the black screen after moving the whole Sims 3 folder? Or did it launch like a new game? If it launched it's something in your user data. This could be your in game settings which are stored in the Options.ini file, or a corrupted save, or conflicting/dodgy CC.
@Bluebellflora I still got the black screen. Should I try to contact EA again?
Let me tag some super Windows helpers who may be able to help. They will want your DxDiag though so can you post that here in the meantime? I put the link in one of my previous posts.

Just save it onto your desktop and then copy and paste here as Crin has recommended in the DxDiag post 🙂
