I think it was a clean install, but I'm not sure.
I do have .net framework 4.5 installed.
It appears as an installed program.
What could cause the wrong version of .NET to run?
In the registry, under NET Framework Setup->NDP, I have:
CDF
v2.0.50727
v3.0
v3.5
v4
v4.0
It seems suspicious to me that I have both v4 and v4.0 .
Under v4 there's Client and Full, and their version numbers are 4.5.50709.
Under v4.0 there's only Client, and the version number is 4.0.0.0
Is this ok?
I still need help here.
I tried removing .NET 4.5. This left me with .NET 3.5.
I tried installing Sims 3 - same WSE error.
I don't know if I can remove the .NET 3.5 - it doesn't have an entry in the Control Panel - Programs, so I assume its built in the Win7.
I then re-installed .NET 4.5, again tried installing Sims 3, and again got the WSE error.
What can I do to solve this?!
