Store content will not stay installed

I'm having a problem with only store content, not 3rd party content. I tried downloading my store content through the Sims Store website and in game, but my downloads will not stay installed. When I try to download in game, it shows as installed an I can use it but when I close the game and play later, my downloads are gone. Seems like this happened as soon as I started using the EA app to play.

I also noticed that sometimes I will get a message saying I do not own the item I'm trying to download, which doesn't make sense?

I submitted a report with EA and here is my EA Report ID: 1ce97872-270a-4533-bbd0-c72e7c7bf1b9

I would appreciate any help! Thank you.

I did everything you said, and tried downloading via the Launcher and in-game. When it prompts me for my login info, and after entering it, it keeps popping up the same login screen over and over. I have had the same username and password for EA and The Sims 3 for years, and I just used it last night, but for some reason after moving the folder, this started happening. I changed my password but no change.

  • @kwohld  Okay, try restoring the old folder and removing the relevant files.  Inside the Sims 3 folder, move the Downloads folder elsewhere.  (This contains downloaded Sims3Packs, which don't get deleted when you install the content.)  Remove the entire DCBackup folder.  Go into DCCache and remove all the files that end in .ebc or .tmp.  Go into InstalledWorlds and remove the .world files for any Store worlds.

This should remove all your Store content from the game without touching anything else.  Please try again to download a Store item and let me know whether it works.

If you're still asked to sign in, try clearing Edge's Internet Explorer data, which is where the launcher stores some user information.

@puzzlezaddict Quick Question. I'm also having this issue, I've followed everything but where would one move the Downloads folder?

@lpaige611  It doesn't matter where you move the Downloads folder as long as it's not inside the Sims 3 folder.  The point is to have an empty folder so that your old downloads don't interfere with the new ones, and you don't inadvertently try to install an old and probably nonworking download rather than a fresh one.
