Bunnymally I own the first two items and have successfully installed them before, but I installed them again just to make absolutely sure they still work as advertised. They do: they installed fine and load in-game. But one relevant detail is that the first item, at least, is on the newer end of Store content.
So I'd like to know what kind of install you have—EA App, Steam, disc, something else—in case it's not fully updated. That could be the problem here.
If you have a Steam install, or an EA App install that never involved discs, then you already have the newest update, by definition. In that case, I'd suggest moving the entire Sims 3 user folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, to allow the game to generate a new one when you open the launcher. Try installing these items into the new folder. If it works, the problem is in your old folder; otherwise, it might be an install issue or perhaps a system issue.

I will try these suggestions tomorrow to see if it can solve the same problem I am having. I look and it seems a lot more people are having this same problem as well.
