Sunset Valley

I downloaded my Sims 3 game (plus Pets & High End Loft) onto my new computer, but Sunset Valley now says I have to purchase it with Sims Cash. When I click to do that, it asks me to log in. I try to do that, but it keeps saying my credentials are wrong. Trust me, I entered them correctly. But my real question is why I have to pay for Sunset Valley when I used to have it on my other computer? I though that was included in the Sims 3 package I purchased. Any ideas?

@dlynnt2  Sunset Valley is the world that comes with the base game. did you install from disc or download from Origin? Was the base game in Origin? Do you have Origin running? Did you change your email since you played last? Did you download the Origin client? Do you have Origin running on another computer? It sounds like the game is not activated on that computer. You need to have the Origin client open and logged in to activate the install.

  • This doesn't make any sense. Sunset Valley is the base game that comes with Sims 3, and it's not available for sale at the Store, so there's no way the game would prompt you to purchase it. Worlds don't get prompts for the store, either, only store objects.

Are you sure you clicked on the right button to play your game? At the main menu, you click on "New Game", and SV should be there. If you open and started a new game correctly but are being prompted to download anything, then it sounds like you have a dodgy copy of TS3. Do you have a legit copy?

@thesims1depot  I think the op is being requested to activate the game on the new computer and the browser the op is using may have a corrupt cookie and can't log in to an existing account. This is an uncommon condition that happens when the web site is restarted. Existing cookies need to be cleared so a new cookie can be created or the old cookie will expire after some time. The game needs to be activated on every computer the game is installed on which requires an Origin account to be logged into. I'm guessing the game installer is finding Origin installed already and wants the op to login to activate the new install.

@roberta591 The OP had a very specific complaint. She said she was told she would need sim cash to play Sunset Valley then couldn't log in when she tried logging into the site to purchase it. Maybe the OP got the details wrong of what happened; I dunno. In any event, hopefully she will come back and elaborate.

Ok, guys... I'm so sorry. I didn't have Hidden Springs. Sunset Valley IS there and playable. I don't know how I got the two confused. But all of the other info was correct.

I downloaded Origin onto my new computer. So there shouldn't be any existing cookies. But just in case, I have cleared all cache and cookies.

But I did mistakenly put "Sunset Valley", when I meant "Hidden Springs".

    Thanks.

So are you saying you're still having this problem, except with Hidden Springs?

If you're having trouble logging in, sometimes changing your password helps. You can do that by going directly to http://ea.help.com. Change your password there, then try logging in again.
