I also had that problem before. Did the music start looping after you completed an opportunity, or did it just started playing on random? If you completed an opportunity, check if the pop-up is gone. If it isn't gone, then canceling it would stop the looping music. If it just started playing randomly or if the pop-up isn't available anymore, try moving your sim(s) out and then back in. I'm not really sure if these will work for you so I'm hoping for the best :D
