I don't know Avast at all.
can you add exceptions ? Try adding the ts3w.exe to see if that makes a difference.
I followed the instructions on MTS and when I launched CLA it doesn't show any errors crashes.
I tried running the game again just to see what would happen.
This first try got past the Maxis logo, The Sims logo, and the intro movie then crashed to desktop without notification at the main loading screen.
The second try I made it all the way to loading a neighborhood, but it then crashed to desktop without notification about the time the loading bar was at around 90%. CLA shows a crash was recorded.

My launcher is saying my game is up to date.
In CLA it also says the likely cause is "Warning: Updates Available..." and lists a bunch of Expansions. But I don't understand why it would think they are not up to date when the launcher says it IS up to date.
Is there a way to force updates? Or are the games actually updated and I have a different issue?
