The sims3 Island Paradise unable to move sims from a different town

I just bought the sims3 Island Paradise and I want to move my sims from one world to the new world that came with the new E.P.

I can't figure out why, but I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to start a new family in order to play and I really don't want to.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

    use your sims smart phone travel and real estate option- move -pick new town then you should have a list of the towns pick isla paradiso once you select where your sims are moving the moving process will begin

    How long does the moving process take?? I moved from my cell phone and the next thing I knew my family was outside and they haven't moved yet!!! I let them wait out there for a long time be untill they had to come inside...... and now I can't save anything or edit my town... is this common!?!?

    The process does seem to be bugged a bit. 

    Did you get a window to choose the town ? Can you move within town ?
