I bought the addon with sims points, but when I press "Download" it says that it has an error downloading {0} . I know my "Downloading Station" thing works because I tested it with downloading a world. And that was perfect. If there is no solution, then I hope I can get my sims points back!

Did you try the manual patch listed here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Patch-1-67/td-p/67858/ ?
Make sure your game is updated to 1.67 (you can check on the launcher, lower left corner)
If that is the case, there's a log which can be found in documents/electronicarts/thesims3 and is called Sims3LauncherLogFile.log

That's one of the problems, that I don't think can be fixed. When I try to update a new patch, it works - quarter of the way. After that short quarter, it stops. Now, I see that my wifi is on. I've been staring at it.
On the patches I can update, I tried to turn off my internet connection and it says, "Unknown Error" - that tells me that it works. But when I try to do the same with the 1.67 patch update, it just quits.
I've been trying to update to the latest patch at least 3 weeks ago.
There might be a solution: Wait until another patch comes out then see if I can download that instead of 1.67, but I don't know.

I downloaded the patch archive. I tried archived it, but it didn't work. When I clicked it and said it was archiving the file, at the end of the process it said,
" Unable to expand "To-9355-1.67.2.024001.tgz" into "Desktop". (Error 1 - Operation not permitted) "
I am using a mac and I did not download the superpatch
