Unable to use entry doors

Has anyone ever encountered a door glitch? I just built a massive house but the sims cant enter though any door that leads to (or from) the outside. They can navigate through the house fine. They cant use an arch either. The only way they can walk in and out of the house is if the walls are completely removed. I tried "moving" on and off the lot, and ive tried removing any new mods. I cant see anything that would actually be blocking their path. Next step will be to delete the lot and place again. But im also ready to totally uninstall my game and try again! Please help! i will not be able to rebuild the house because it's too complicated.

this lot has been uploaded to the exchange for someone to try themselves.

Ps. I've also made more room around the door (not pictured in this upload) and tried removing the celebrity gate to make it work. I've also been encountering this error with other gates around the lot too.

  • Jacalyn_Rose  I spent almost an hour messing with this build, and I did manage to get sims to walk inside without deleting the walls.  However, I deleted almost everything else, so I can't tell you what exactly helped.  I can say that deleting every object that shows up in an NRaas MasterController Object Stats list did NOT help.  As a last step, I went through and deleted stairs and railings and fireplaces and chimneys, and then it worked.  I'd also previously leveled the terrain under the entrance, pulled the porch out a couple squares, removed the celebrity gate and the fence it sat on (and a dozen units of fence in general), and moved the mailbox in a few squares.

The problem, aside from the fact that your build was mangled, is that I don't know whether I deleted the one item that's the problem, or there were a lot of items that were a problem and it took me that long to get all of them.  I don't have several more hours to spend on this myself, so that's as far as I can take you.  But if you're invested, you could do what I did out of order and see where you get.

You poor thing! I wouldn't have thought to delete the items- I'm glad that you thought of that. I'll do that, definitely invested at this point, and thankful to hear there is some kind of solution after a few hours myself trouble shooting.

I'll delete the items since it's better than rebuilding an entire lot. I'll add back in items a few rooms in at a time and test sims periodically. Unfortunately I only tested with sims on this build at the beginning when working on terrain, everything worked then so I assumed I was in the clear. Lesson learned let's say on tests.

Just to clarify- do you think flattening the lot helped your solution? or was it an unnecessary step? I'll avoid it if I can help it.

  • Jacalyn_Rose  I didn't flatten the entire lot, just the area around the entrance; the other water was all intact.  And I'm not sure it was necessary either.  Nor am I convinced that the items needed to be flushed.  If I were going to do this again, I'd go backwards, deleting the stairs and fireplaces and chimneys first, then messing with the terrain.  And I'd replace the door each time just to be thorough.
