1. Are you using any Custom Content or mods ? Only store content, no CC or exchange
2. If you are using mods, are you using any of the 'big ones' like Awesome Mod or Twallan’s mods No mods
3. If you're not using mod, did you never use them or did you take them out for the EP (as you are supposed to do) Never used mods
4. Did you update the mods you put back with a compatible version ? No mods
5. Do you have University Life or just the Patch? Patched then loaded University Life
6. Which Patch Level are you at? 1.50
7. Did you start a new game or are you playing an existing ones ? Existing game
8. Did you transfer an existing Sim over or are they new/Pre-Made ? Existing sim
9. What town are you currently playing ? EA or Custom ? EA Riverview
10. What is your Operating System (Mac, XP, Vista, Win 7) Win 7
11. Do you have the download or DVD Version of the game. DVD Version
When my sim gets invited to a party, she accepts the invitation, but when you go to map view there is no party icon showing which house the party is going to take place.
When it is time for the party, the reminder comes up. But when you click on it to go to the party it disappears and my sim goes nowhere.
The first time this happened I sent my sim back to her sorority house a few hours later and it turns out that's where the party was and it was going on.
I do not know if the person throwing the party was on the lot at the time the party was supposed to start since my sim did not show up until later and by accident.
Also, when she arrived on the sorority house lot she was given an opportunity (in the big blue opportunity screen) to play juice pong. I had her accept the opportunity but she could not fulfill it because there was no ping pong table on the premises.
ETA: I know there is a similar posting, but they didn't say anything about the no party icon and in my case there actually was a party happening where in the other case the poster said the person throwing the party wasn't home so the party didn't happen.
Update: The second party that cancelled out and I couldn't find in map view, my sim got a call saying we're sorry we missed you at the party.
When the notice saying it was time to go to the third party came up, I paused my game and went to map view and saw the balloon icons. While in map view I clicked on the go to party button and my sim went to the party and had a good time.
But the next party I forgot to go to map view first and click on go to party and it disappeared. I went into map view and found the party balloon icons (but they looked different - no stars, just plain balloons). I tried to click on them to go to the party, but the option was greyed out. the pop up said "Jeffrey was out" but the party was being given by a sim named Miles not Jeffrey (but I think they were roommates - it was the fraternity dorm).
I sent my sim to the lot anyway and when she got there it looked like the party was just ending. Everyone was leaving and just as soon as my sim entered the house she got the "Return to Sorority House" action icon in the upper left hand corner. I cancelled the action and got a cup of juice from the keg and the icon popped right back up again and she drank her juice and left.
Hope all this detail is helpful and doesn't fry your brain. :D Thanks for taking the time to figure these bugs out.
