Why won't Sims from The Exchange download into my game

My Sims 3 game downloads all custom content from different sites but when i try to download whole sims my launcher says "Installation failed: Please make sure your game has the latest Software Updates and try again." From my knowledge my game automatically updates because of origin so i don't know whats going on. Please help.😢🤨

    @thankyou4venom  It's always possible that your antivirus software is getting in the way, although if you can download other items, that seems like less of a possibility.  Some people have had success running the game as an administrator (right-click on the icon to show the option).

    But I think your best best is reading crinrict's blog post concerning this error.  Depending on the cause of the issue, there are several things you can do to fix it.

    @thankyou4venom  This could be due to a bad download or some corrupt file; it used to happen when someone didn't have the latest store content patch.  But regardless of the cause, you can address it by pulling your entire TS3 folder out of Documents (not pieces, the whole thing) and placing it on your desktop.  When you launch the game, a fresh, clean folder will be spawned with no saves or added content.  Try downloading and installing with this folder instead.  If it works, you can move the contents of your DCCache, Library, and SavedSims folders into your old TS3 folder, trash the new folder and put the old one back, and the newly downloaded content should appear in your game.

    If you're on a mac, you might have a different issue entirely—your store patch hasn't downloaded, and your ContentPatch folder likely has nothing inside but an empty Downloads folder.  (This means that any premium store content will not work properly.)  If so, you can use the link in the following post to download the necessary files:

    It didn't work. I can download anything but sims from the exchange. I Don't know why, I'm just trying to download my sims back on my game.

    It worked! I press add to game instead of save file. This didn't work before but now it does! thank you.
