I am spending more time fixing the same appliances, that seem to break every day, than actually playing the game. This is ridiculous!!!
To keep appliance and plumbing fixtures from constantly breaking, you need to upgrade them. Most of them have an upgrade to make them unbreakable.

Even though you've got them upgraded, things will still break from time to time but at a much slower rate including unbreakable things. But if they are breaking every day then something else is going on.
As @Slytherclaw72 , the gremlin lot challenge will cause things to break a lot. And if you have a club with the sabotage activity, that will also cause a lot of breakage. Sims with the goofball trait will prank the toilets too breaking them (not sure if they'll prank other things). And ghosts will break things if you have the spooky lot challenge active. The cursed lot challenge will also cause breakage. So you might want to check your lot for any of those lot challenges and change them to something else if any are active.
Are you using mods? If you do, then you might want to check them to see if any you have cause things to break.
And if none of that works to stop the excess breakage, you can try repairing the game.

Are you certain you don’t have one of the lot challenges enabled by accident? I know Gremlins will break things constantly.
