Since the last patch the appliances especially in the Bathroom. Tried with cheap and also expensive toilets/bath tubs/showers. Breaking after almost every use.

Also noticed that the appliances breaks more frequently compare to earlier since the last update. Sure is helping my sims building up their handiness skill, but annoying that toliets and showers breaks a few times each day to at least one each second day.

Not sure if this is a bug but I have recently purchased the Businesses & hobbies pack and since adding it to my game, the toilets always seem to break.
While my family business was open for 8 hours, my sim had to repair the toilet 6 times. The toilet had not been pranked and it just breaks after being used once. I tried buying a new toilet and upgrading it but the issue is still there.
It's just getting to the point it's frustrating because I know I'll have to repair the toilet after using it (but repair skills are so high for all my sims)
I have no mods, play on the PC.

All of my appliances keep breaking very fast. Some of these are very expensive and some are fully upgraded. Its showers, computers, fridges, sinks. Anything that can break, has.

Is it normal for your bathroom to break frequently, like every week, even after upgrading all of them?
I play base game and started a new vanilla save after the latest patch and noticed that my toilets/bathrooms frequently break. Until this new save, I’ve been playing in a small house with small family so I barely noticed the constant need to repair/replace my stuff even without upgrading any of it. But this time, I play with the Goth and Spencer-Kim-Lewis households, since their house has more bathrooms and more sims, I wonder if the breaking is actually normal? As in the frequency of sims using the bathroom is higher, so have higher chance to break? Even after upgrading it? I don’t have clumsy/evil/mean sims or sims with high mischief in the household, only childish and goofball in Kim-Lewis household. Only the bathrooms keep breaking, no issue with TV/radio/computer/stove/fridge. About 42 days in Goth household, computer and fridge broke down twice, stove I think only once, but bathrooms were like once every few days. This is the first time I got really annoyed with the frequent repairs that my sims need to make. Never experienced this issue before. But I’m not sure if it is actually a bug from latest patch since this is the first time I’m playing with bigger family in big house.
I play on PC through EA app, on latest patch. Only have base game, no packs or kits. Already cleared the caches and repaired the game after the latest update.
It is normal for the frequency/number of uses to affect how often an item breaks, but it should break less often with certain upgrades (sturdy faucets, superior flush, etc) than without. More expensive items with higher reliability scores should also break less (ie more uses before it breaks) than similar items with lower reliability scores.
Are you sure your goofball sims aren’t autonomously pranking the toilet?

I'm also having issues with appliances breaking. I have fixed the same bathtubs, sinks, and toilets about 6 times in the same Sim week because every second I look, they're broken. This has been going on for a couple generations in game and it has definitely gotten a bit annoying. Mine is in a bigger house as well, the Ward household in Del Sol Valley. It actually made me get the 10 broken objects achievement because I didn't realize I needed to fix every. single. plumbing object in my house.

I thought of taking proper notes on the frequency for better reporting, but somehow my bathroom no longer break frequently as before. Currently I only have 3 sims in my household and the bathrooms (all upgraded) only broke down once in 1 sim week. Previously I had around 5-6 sims in the household and my bathrooms would broke down every 2-3 days.
Regarding goofball prank and reliability, I stopped playing with Kim-Lewis household once Olivia (goofball) aged to teen, and her mischief was at level 2. I doubt she or other sims doing it as when I don’t instruct them to do anything, they either went straight to fireplace to keep warm or go swimming. And no one in Goth household have goofball or other mean/evil traits.
I checked both Goth and Kim-Lewis household plumbing stuffs reliability, lowest is 5, highest is 8. And when I first played with the households (no upgrades), I would have 1-2 stuffs broken every 2-3 days. I now mainly play the Goth household, in the beginning, the bathroom sinks and toilets (all reliability 8) keep breaking down every 2-3 days. I upgraded all of them but I still need to repair them like 2-3 times a week (when I still have around 4-5 sims in the household). The difference was like, before upgrading, I would have one item in both bathroom broken, after upgrading, it was like only one item for the whole house.
I think I will make a new save in the future just to test how many times before somethings break for each reliability scale.

I purchased a restaurant and was running it for the first time. That is how I discover that the fridge either one, on different floors, keep breaking over and over. My fairy sim came by and fixed it for me but then in the time it took my other sim to walk upstairs it broke again. With free services I also called a repair person. Tho the fridge gets fixed it just breaks again asap. Its impossible for me to keep a fridge fixed in this restaurant. The restaurant in question is located in the South Square Coffee in Windenburg.
