This is definitely since the patch on Tuesday. I had a new save file I started (1 YA Sim + cat), and the shower literally broke twice in a row right after showering, even though it was fully upgraded. In 9 Sim days, 4 plumbing objects broke at least 6 times. This makes the game kind of unplayable.
