Hi!
Yes, when I only had this bugged chicken I had option to call it to coop, but nothing happened then. I bought new chicken and after that I could interact only with the new one - either through the coop or directly.
I've tried resetting the grim reaper, adding him to my family, removing him from it or even deleting him. Nothing changed, I can interact with him only if he's in my family, in all other cases he stays stuck at my house ☹️
Would you be willing to share your save with me ?
If so, please zip your saves folder and upload it somewhere like dropbox, googledrive or OneDrive and PM me the link.

@kastroola So I found a way to get rid of the chicken but I didn't play that long afterwards but at least the grim reaper left
Did some travelling afterward and that seem to work.
So for this to work you will need a mod that enables all cheats. You might already have one so you can just try this cheat command:
The grim reaper should leave shorty after and the chicken should be removed from the coop if it works.
It SHOULD be the same on your original save but try first on that version you sent me to see if there's any negative effects. Also make a backup before trying on the original.
you can also try some cheats to see if the cheats work
open cheat console and type
objects.list livestock.
if you see a list of items in the cheat console, you're good to go on, otherwise, add allcheats from twistedmexi to your game.
You can see this one listed: object_animalObjects_livestock_chicken_hen_brown: object_animalObjects_livestock_chicken_hen_brown:0x026513b30e7501de
This is your faulty hen.
You can delete the hen now with: objects.destroy 0x026513b30e7501de
If the number differs on your list, use that one.
I don't think there's any way so keep the hen.
