[ARCHIVED] [CD] Male Dogs Are Getting Pregnant

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Steam-PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? 1.77.146.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Dogs&Cats, Seasons, Holiday Items, Cottage Living
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I’m not exactly sure. Breeding dogs should cause it
What happens when the bug occurs? After my male and female dogs autonomously mated I got a notification that my MALE dog is expecting. MCCC confirmed.
What do you expect to see? I expect the female to be the one expecting.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The most recent small patch went live that morning. Not sure if it is related. I breed dogs for income in 2 households. Lots of mating and puppies. Never had this happen

My male and female dog mated. Then I got a notification that the MALE is expecting. MCCC confirmed and I checked the parent, it is not the female he mated with. It is my other MALE dog. I am not sure if they actually mated without my knowledge or if it was “immaculate conception” but I did not see them “mate”. I got a notification that the female was expecting as well a while later and the pregnant male is the father. I did not play through the pregnancy yet but I posted about this in a sims 4 fb group and another person just commented with photos of her male dog who just had 3 babies so it’s not just me. And she says she doesn’t use mods so for me that rules out my mods. It has to be EA. So I figured you’d want to know. Will attach my photos (male Husky Kimo) and her photos (Male dog Rex)

  • @NikkiXoLynn What do you mean by confirmed by MCCC ?

It would be really best if you could test without mods and not rely on what others say.

    Thanks

@crinrict MCCC tells you how many/what gender they are having. Dog was still pregnant without mods folder. Had two puppies.

@NikkiXoLynn Ah, wasn't sure if you checked with the MCCC Discord folks and they said it was a known vanilla issue or if it was something within MCCC itself.

Was the dog still pregnant from when you had mods in ? Do males get pregnant in the first place with no mods ?

@crinrict Yes it was the same pregnancy from with the mods in. I don’t have any mods that even touch pet pregnancy, though. I haven’t been able to recreate it with or without mods because I can’t tell a male to mate with another male. I guess they have to do it autonomously

    @NikkiXoLynn Thanks.

Hopefully someone has this issue without mods installed and can post so it becomes clear if it's a mod issue or not.

    Hey there,

Know this is an OLD bug. But I'm a console player, so no mods. And my male dog, who I was pretty sure was neutered just popped up expecting. Really unsure how this happened.

So not a mods issue, then. Maybe now we can take it seriously as a bug
