I am having this issue too. In my old save, I used to be able to shift+click and delete the piles of dishes, food, collectibles, harvestables, furniture, and whatever else spawned in San Myshuno during the festivals. I started a new save 2 months ago, and I am not sure when the problem began, since the items didn't clutter San Myshuno initially. Once it started, though, when I hover over the items, they don't highlight and the cursor has a red X. Since I can't select the items, I can't shift-click to delete them like I used to do. I've repaired my game, which didn't help.

This Also Happens in Tomarang, But I Was Able to Fix It There!
I initially encountered the litter bug in Tomarang. My Sim who lived in a Residential Rental walked to the nearby Night Market to mingle and noticed other Sims eating at the market stalls and littering the sidewalk in front of them. I tried to use the destroy objects cheat and was only able to delete a few dishes. The other dishes and cups would not allow me to interact with them (there was a red slash symbol, indicating that I was blocked from interacting). I saw that this was going to be a problem, so I exited Tomarang before it became worse, and didn't save my game.
After reading some of the possible causes of this error (most likely tied to Apartments in San Myshuno, Dorms in Britechester, and Residential Rentals in Tomarang), I decided to delete all of my Residential Rentals in world and turn them into Residential lots. As soon as I did that, I started getting last exception errors (including error code 300), so I further modified the lots to be bars and cafes. After I turned all of the former rental lots in Tomarang into commercial lots, the LEs stopped and I was able to save correctly. I then brought my Sim to one of the bars I put near the Night Market. Once there, I cammed over to the littered area in Live Mode, and to my surprise, I was able to delete every dish that was previously unavailable to me using the destroy objects cheat. I also want to clarify that I could pick the dishes up and throw them away too.
I now surmise that the "litter bug" as well as the "Festival Overlapping bug" that I reported in another thread, are somehow tied to Residential Rentals, Apartments and Dorms, and the only way to delete the debris is to convert all of the nearby lots to commercial buildings, bring your Sim there, and then use the destroy objects cheat to remove the trash. This trick won't work in San Myshuno near The Fashion District, Spice District, etc. because the apartments are a mainstay, and you can't convert them. Unfortunately, the area near Planet Honey Pop is littered with cupcakes, coffee cups, trash and overlapping Festival debris in my game. I can't do anything about that one except roll back my save and avoid travelling there.

I'm wondering if the rubbish can be Scrubberoo'd away? Or set on fire? Any spellcasters willing to try? I'm avoiding going anywhere near city living cause that pack is doomed or I'd try it myself 🙂
- Sims4Ever20222 months agoRising Scout@RheaFallout - Most likely not, because the objects are unclickable unless they are somehow released from whatever bug is causing the apartments, dorms and rental lot types to interfere with market stalls & festival simulation events. The EA gurus need to look into this matter and resolve it from their end.
