[ARCHIVED] [CL] NPCs walk through apartments

ProductThe Sims 4

Platform:PC

Which language are you playing the game in?:English

How often does the bug occur?:All saves, any apartment in CL, at seemingly random times.

What is your current game version number?:1.105.297.1030  (latest patch Feb 27th 2024)

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed?: All except For Rent, Realm of Magic, Journey to Batuu, Patio, Spooky, Bowling, Glamour, Backyard.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?:Play in an apartment in CL

What happens when the bug occurs?:NPC Sims will pop into being and walk either around the perimeter of the apartment (half in half out) or on occasion wander through the middle, then disappear. They look as if they are  "somewhere else". They do not interact at all.

What do you expect to see?: Not this!

Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods?: Mods have been removed after latest patch, caches cleared and I have just had this (again) with a new save.

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system?:I don't know, this has been going on a while - months. It is not constant but is often enough to be considered a regular bug?

Please describe the patch or change you made.: N/A

Hi team.  In City Living I get random sims walk through my apartment.  Is this a bug that can be fixed?

Edit By Crinrict: Added Tag to Title.

    Hey all,

If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), could you please provide screenshots or save files (save file instructions here http://x.ea.com/74420) of it occurring in-game to assist with our investigation?

    Thanks!

Which language are you playing the game in?: English
How often does the bug occur?: About 60%. It is pretty frequent, but hard to replicate
What is your current game version number?: 1.106.148.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed?: All expansion, game, stuff packs, CAS kits, basement treasures/party/book nook/little campers/bust the dust kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?: Playing on San Myshuno, Culpepper apartment
What happens when the bug occurs?: NPCs that are passerby's use the house as if it is part of the street. This happens even when it is not the active lot, and when my sim visits this lot he has to go inside, take a detour to go outside and then knock on the door for some reason. Sometimes the NPCs that teleport there get stuck around the counters and start spinning until they eventually get unstuck and phase through the walls.
What do you expect to see?: For the game to respect the lot boundaries
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods?: Never. This occurrs in a never modded game.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system?: No
Please describe the patch or change you made.: N/A

I do suspect it started occurring after I have renovated the kitchen and added things to the left-hand corner. I did not use move objects cheat for this house either. In fact, when I replaced my counter/bar/bar stool with all island counters, my sim suddenly became unable to enter his own house, even after the counters were removed, until I reloaded an earlier save.

The opening in that area between the counters is also where NPCs would get stuck and start spinning until they'd eventually become unstuck as well. Again, it is only my theory since I don't believe I was seeing any NPCs passing through the house when that corner was empty.

Edit: Here is a video of a NPC appearing in my home during a holiday, going in circles, then leaving. Sometimes they walk through front door, other times they go to the end of the room, make a left and walk through the wall until they vanish.

to ask my sims if she wanted to hang out, other sims she knew come into the apartment. This is normal. but earlier this would be like this; she would wait in the room between the elevator and the apartment door, and there would be notification. You would answer. if you do not answer, sim would go away on its own. But now the sim will enter the house by herself and the notification comes. If I refuse to hang out, she will go away. But if I don't answer, at home, she'll keep hanging out

also the "stan" that I do not know enters the house by himself and walks around. Nobody invited him, and he stole items at home.

  • The game just updated and  sims still  walking through the walls in the apartments

  • @crinrict Like through walls, no doors being used not a ghost, walk through the apartment as if it’s walking on the street, I’d add a photo to show but I can’t seem to be able to do that
