I have the same problem. I've tried the steps in crinrict's post but the issue persists. On a fresh factory reset game, the first thing I did is try to open the computer menu. Its nowhere near as slow as on my 4 year old save file - but it's definitely slower than any other object's menu.

The options for interacting with a computer that a Sim owns has an approximate 20-second delay before appearing on screen. During this delay, all button commands are non-responsive. Attempting to input multiple commands (while waiting for computer interactions to appear) will typically lead to a bottleneck that causes the game to crash. This problem is even more severe for the Detective Career while at work. Work computers have an additional delay while simply hovering the cursor over a work computer, cumulatively leading to nearly 60 seconds of non-responsiveness while the game acknowledges button inputs.What do you expect to see? I both updated to the latest patch on 4 June and installed Eco Lifestyle before noticing this bug. I can confirm this issue never happened to me prior to the update....

This is happening on PS4. The delay from when the computer is clicked on to when the menu comes up is quite long, 10-15 seconds. In the meantime time you can't pause the game using the controls.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)

Tray Folder

Screenshots/Videos/Custom music

Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)

Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....

Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

@crinrictUpdated (didnt realize it'd been a year, yikes lol) and restarted pc, still in the factory reset version of my game. The issue persists.

Edited to add:
I'd been playing just fine a couple days back, the issue started happening sometime after the eco living patch. Im unsure if it was there before the pack was released. I downloaded the patch yesterday but did not actually play.
