[ARCHIVED] Dead sims are not greyed out in the relationship panel/Family Tree

Here's Mimsy (GT) plus her husband Bernard (GT) and right next to her Guidry (PSP). They all show as normal Sims in the Relationship Panel. They're all ghosts that came with their respective packs.

Get to work, get together, city living, cottage living, cats and dogs, discover university, get famous, high school years, seasons, snowy escape, parenthood, dream home decorator, moschino stuff, paranormal stuff, my first pets, romantic garden, nifty knitting, tiny living, desert luxe kit, book nook kit
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open a save with sims that should be dead and check the family tree/relationships panel. Tested also in a new save and it also appears to happen with newly killed sims in a fresh save.
What happens when the bug occurs? Sims that are dead are not showing as ghosts in the UI but rather as alive
What do you expect to see? they should be ghosts
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This started happening after the crystal creations patch on February 27th 2024 and has persisted through the quick fix patches that came after it as well.

Unsure what happens when they appear in world as I have only made note of them in the relationship panel and family tree. While I have played with mods, they are both turned off and removed from my game at present due to the update so I do not think they are to blame. Currently after repairing the game some sims are appearing as ghosts in the relationship panel but not in the family tree. And some sims are still appearing as alive in both despite dead. I cheat killed two sims in a new save, one appeared as a ghost in the relationship panel and one continued to appear as alive while appearing as a ghost in the family tree.

What happens when the bug occurs? All dead family members appear as though they're alive in the family tree
What do you expect to see? Greyed out boxes when relatives are dead...

Please describe the patch or change you made. It was after one of the last 3 patches from the last few weeks. Not sure which exactly.

Dead family members are showing up as alive in the family tree again. This was an old bug that has re-emerged after all the recent patches to try and fix the other million broken things in this game.

What happens when the bug occurs? Sims appear alive even if they are not..
What do you expect to see? Greyed out Sim icons.

The bug affects both recent and old sims deaths. Some Sims stay the same but some come back alive. I don't know what exact patch it started but all I know is before the February updates there were no problems. Also tried repairing the game, it did nothing...

@crinrict What should I do if I don't have a save that goes that far back, is there any other fix to this? Also can I still use my mods after this?
