My save file does not have a single one of the symptoms described in any of those links. Everything is totally normal from map view, I can enter all lots and neighborhood maps without any loading issues, and I do not see any exclamation marks of any color. No houses, Sims, or pets disappear when loading into a lot or household from either live or build mode, and my rental lots do not appear to have any trouble loading. The only symptom is that EA defaults appear on the unloaded lots in the surrounding world.
Is there any way I can test to be sure this one symptom is truly save corruption, and how should I address this? I would like to repeat BK747's previous question of whether it is safe to transfer the families and lots to a new save?
I also have spent years building the save file that is having this issue, and it would likely take me weeks or more to transfer everything to a new world. If I put in all that work only to find out the new save also has the issue, I would be totally devastated. This is a serious bug obviously caused by the latest game update and not anything I did myself, so I hope this problem can be presented to EA officially.
That more like it ?

Sorry I can't be much help just wanted to let u know I've had this problem last sunday
I had the same problem. Deleted all my mods, repaired the game, reinstalled mods one by one, repaired the game again. It than showed the neighbouring lots again as how I build them but still my live mode is a mess with endless loading screens. Also most of the lots in the new world won't load for me, not in live mode and not in build/buy mode.... I think it has to do with the loading error lots of players are having atm

I might be misreading it, but this doesn't appear to be the same bug. The descriptions I'm seeing in that link are that the lots either revert to default from map view, or are actually changed back to their default or even gone entirely when the lot is loaded into. In my case, the lots only show as default from live and build mode when it is not the active loaded-into lot, and are showing exactly as they should be both in map view and when the lot is loaded. Nothing is actually disappearing/deleted, it's just that the neighborhood around the loaded lot looks wrong when a sim goes for a jog, etc.
Also, I would like to ask once again: Is there any way I can confirm if this is actually save file corruption, and can my lots/families still be transferred safely to a new save if it is? If you're not certain, that's fine, but please be upfront with me about it.
- crinrict9 months agoHero+It's very possible that all the threads are just different kinds of corruption and depending on several factors, they manifest in different ways.
I can't answer your question cause I simply don't know. Some issues are recoverable, others seem fine then the issue comes back and others simply have no solution. I don't know what it is in your case.
You have several optoins:
- Backup your save now and play on
- Play another save and check back after each patch if the issue gets resolved
- Try find a solutions from suggestions in one of the other threads.
I've personally given up on trying to find a solution for these since I've never experienced them myself. - BK7479 months agoNew Veteran
An update...
Since the latest game update, no change with this issue, so likely is related to save corruption, as it doesn't occur in other save files, or in fresh saves.
As I've tested a little bit more, the endless load screens seem to be isolated to Tomarang specifically.
@MetroptimistHave you noticed any changes since the last update?
@stasj912Thanks for sharing your experiences with this... Unfortunately, deleting the mods and repairing the game didn't fix it for me. I tried going into that save file mod free after repairing and the issue is still there.
I'm going to go ahead and try creating a new save file, moving over some of my more cherished builds and sims and seeing how that goes. Fingers crossed any corruption or issues with the old save file don't come along with them. We'll see what happens!
