That is exactly what is happening to me. Its not so much clutter on shelves or anything it's just they don't wash them at all. They just leave them back on the table. I always feel like they needed to be cleaned before I'd leave the lot so I'd make my sim pile them up and then manually delete the stack in build/buy mode.

@CreepyCatMomThe funny thing is that, if you have a waiter station on a residential lot, Sims on that floor will invariably use that rather than any dishwasher or sink.

So, yeah, Sims are weird.
