I have never raised an issue before (because I’m a busy lawyer who has better things to do), but this is so poor I feel forced to raise.
The ‘For Rent’ expansion pack is currently un-useable!!
Every time I open the game all rental prices, save for a couple of units, jump to around $4m per day. This makes the expansion pack fundamentally unplayable.
I read a lot of reviews before buying any expansion pack and this was a bug mentioned by numerous persons who got the game before general release. Therefore, why was this essential bug not fixed before general release? Does EA no longer care for its customers? This is becoming increasingly an issue with new expansion packs and would indicate so!
It is clearly not practical, once in the game each time, to go into every rental lot and make it a normal residential building and then re-allot the different rental spaces to resolve this issue (a resolution suggested to date). This takes an hour and defeats the object of a game being fun.
I am so extremely disappointed with this expansion pack and EA’s lack of care in fixing this fundamental issue to the expansion pack (particularly as it was raised numerously before general release).
PLEASE GET YOUR S**T TOGETHER EA.
I would love a reply to this from a member of EA staff, with an explanation as to why this was not resolved for general release (let’s see if they bother to read complaints on bugs).
Thanks,
(a loyal Sims player, since the original Sims 1 base game first came out)
I think I found a workaround.. I had to recover my last save before the bills arrived, then I switched households to the property owners and amended the daily rent from -1 to 65 (the daily rent the unit was meant to be). I then switched back to my original family and once the bills arrived again in the recovered save they were normal! Super annoying but hopefully a fix until they actually fix it.
I only had to do this once and then every time I've loaded the game since it has been working fine. I also want to add that when I tried to do this the first time, I wasn't able to amend the unit rent with the property owners so I had to sell and re buy the property playing as them before I could change it.. This hasn't happened to me since so not sure if it was just a one off bug in my game. A long work around but annoyingly seems like one of the only options at the moment as the pack is unplayable otherwise.
Agree that it's completely unacceptable and frustrating that they released the pack with such a huge bug - especially as this is an ongoing pattern with EA and The Sims 4 and from early access content we have seen that the bug was definitely known before release.
