Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.86
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Expansion Packs I DON'T have are University, High School Years, Growing Together, Eco, Get Famous. Game Packs I DON'T have Wedding Stories and Werewolves. Stuff Packs I DON'T have My First Pet, Moschino, Toddler, and Kids Room. Kits that I *DO* have are Castle, Book Nook, Basement Treasures, Greenhouse Haven, Desert Luxe, Decor to the Max, Blooming Rooms, Industrial Lofts, Courtyard Oasis, and Country Kitchen
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open up any rental that you built. It's not hard to miss.
What happens when the bug occurs? Today was the first time I've opened Sims since the 1.86 update was applied. I have been working on a tiny home community with four rentals and a community building. The rent used to be around 2,000 Simoleans per tiny house, per month on the lot. I used to be able to delete or bulldoze rooms or decks. All the rentals were furnished, including artwork, clutter, etc. I have a nice community building with indoor pool, group activities, etc. Today when I entered each rental is over 4 million Simoleons per house, per month! Jesus! I don't have a Sim in my game that even makes that much per month!!! ALL furnishings, every single one, has vanished from all the buildings. I cannot bulldoze rooms or decks (which I know, since I'd planned on bulldozing a house). My options are bulldoze lot, or bulldoze just a single wall, fence, or floor panel or square. Yes, I could delete the home one. Single. Panel or floor square. At. A. Time. If. I Wanted. Too. (but does all those periods give you an idea of how tedious that would be, even for a tiny home?)
What do you expect to see? Rent should DEFINATLEY not be 4 million Simoleans per house. I should be able to bulldoze or delete rooms/decks. The furniture and furnishings in the other two rentals and common area shouldn't have disappeared. The community building is still listed as a community building, but requires rent from... air? code? I have no idea who would be paying that rent, and just to test it, yes, I could move someone into the community building if I wanted to. I do not want to. It's, you know, a community building. I did check that it was still set to community, and it is. So this shouldn't even be available as a rental.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. 1.86
1.86 broke my rental property!
I was able to resolve this, but it took some doing.
My issue occurred when I put a lot in from the gallery. I have no mods. I don't recall if I had changed the property to a rental one before I placed the lot or if I changed it when I put it into play.
Here's how I fixed it:
1. Change the lot to a standard residential lot.
2. Change it back to a rental residential lot.
3. Reconfigure all of the units as before.
The rates came down substantially.

This worked! Thank you.
It may still be a bug, but at least the workaround reduced the rent from 4.6 million per unit! It's now about $2000. This my Sims can do!
It also fixed the community building from being available for rent, despite being set to Shared for all areas.
I also had to clear all the lot traits and lot challenge when it was residential, and NOT add these to the individual units. Small sacrifice for things to work right!

I've tried to fix my game multiple times by doing this and it still goes back to 4 billion when I restart my game.

Same here. I've changed the lot types back and forth from Residential to Residential Rental a bunch of times. It does significantly lower the cost but it's only temporarily. The next time I load up the game or come back to that neighborhood it's 4 billion again. So now I just leave it alone 😞
