I'll do some more testing tomorrow if there's anything that can be done to save it but have some RL stuff to do for the rest of the day.
@crinrictI've done some experimenting, I didn't save though. I've tried to test if it happens on other worlds too. Everything seems to work fine, but when I do it on Willow Creek, the bug only happens there. So it's isolated on Willow Creek on that save. I've tried building residential rentals on other lots on Willow Creek and the bug will always occur
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@Chimichanga128 There's another issue where orange and green triangles appear all over the world. That often starts in Willow Creek and then goes on in other worlds.
Haven't had a chance to test further yet. - Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict I don't seem to have that issue on my game. Do you have pics?
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@Chimichanga128 That's the report for that: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Orange-Exclamation-signs-over-lots-Houses-disappear/td-p/10533991
There's also this older issue: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Houses-Lots-disappear/td-p/4620279/jump-to/first-unread-message that might also be connected to it all which sounds most like what you are seeing but since yours was triggered by the residential rentals, they could all be connected.
This is the issue I first mentioned: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/WORKAROUND-Lot-in-World-corrupts-Map-doesn-t-load-anymore/m-p/13299392#M263688 - Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict In my game the orange green bug or any of it’s symptoms happened yet. My Sims can still visit the lot fine. But the bug doesn’t allow for it to be built/edited as a normal residential
- Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict This looks like a really bad bug hugh? Like the type that can destroy a save?
- Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict By the way, have you tried demolishing the lot? I’ve tried it on mine and it only deletes one of the units. But if I click the other units to be visible, everything will be deleted. However, the bug still persists in the world map view, but the building is no longer there
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@Chimichanga128 Yes, I found that very odd too. It's like the game is confused what belongs to the lot.

@crinrictI know, I’m also testing some ways right now. I found out for some reason someone owns a business on that lot. Maybe because of; before I was able to make it a residential rental, I used a sim to purchase the lot and make it a residential rental. Then once I placed the Heffley family there. I sold it
Weird that it says that someone still owns it - crinrict2 years agoHero+@Chimichanga128 That often is an issue for problems with lot types. I tried that as a workaround too cause it does help in certain cases but I failed in yours.
- Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict Also have you tried placing a lot from the gallery or your own library while on the World view mode on that lot? I tried, with both options of build/edit and build only and it results in an endless loading screen or building lot animation
- crinrict2 years agoHero+
@Chimichanga128 the main issue seems to be that the residential rental lot type is stuck on the lot.
When I look at it in build mode, it tells me its generic but the game thinks it's residential rental
Not sure if there's any way to fix that.EDIT: I'm going to send your save to a EA Community Manager to pass on. I can't find any way to get the game to work.
You have 4 options
1. Abandon the save
2. Put the save aside and play a new one and see if EA can fix these issues somewhere along the line
3. Continue to play with this save and don't play with any of the lots that are corrupted and hope that it doesn't corrupt further
4. Check again if you maybe do have an even older backup where it's still working
- Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict yes that's what happening on mine too. It tells me it's a generic lot type but on world view the residential rental is stuck
That's kinda sad to hear. But will you still look for fixes for it or report it to the devs? - crinrict2 years agoHero+@Chimichanga128 I'm going to send your save to a EA Community Manager to pass on. I can't find any way to get the game to work.

@crinrictI hope they notice it. I don't wanna start all over again, so maybe I can take option 3 for now
Thanks for your help ^_^ I hope you can find still find something that could be able to fix the bug
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@Chimichanga128 Keep a backup of how it is now.
- Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict I already did
- Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict Hi again, I was just curious. Have you tried disabling the For Rent Pack? Will that work?
And I think on an earlier message you said that, the bug spreads on other worlds too. How did that happen? Mine didn't seem to do that but it worries me - crinrict2 years agoHero+@Chimichanga128 Yes, I tried that. Didn't help either.
It depends if your issue is connected to the others or not. The triangle one seems to spread, the broken worlds/white don't I think unless you also put broken lots there.
I don't really know too many details on that though. - Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict How'd those triangles appear? I have yet to see it on mine
For the mean time, I'll be avoiding building new residential rentals on that save - crinrict2 years agoHero+@Chimichanga128 I really don't know. If you haven't seen them, just go on playing. It might just stay a problem with those lot and not affect anything further.
- Chimichanga1282 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@crinrict Hopefully the bug just stays in Willow Creek. As of now, every time I attempt to build a residential rental there using this method.
1. Original lot is a residential
2. Use a random household to buy the lot and make it a residential rental
3. build a couple of rooms
4. exit build mode and the bug will happen
Hopefully this helps you in figuring out what causes the bug - 2 years ago
I'm having a similar problem with a residential rental I placed in Forgotten Hollow. So I want to confirm that the problem isn't necessarily restricted to Willow Creek.
I will try to post an image when I get home later today.
Edited to Add: This residential rental lot is also having the "error code 132" issue I've seen reported elsewhere on this site (where players try to visit a lot or rental unit in live mode, and then are kicked to the world select screen, presumably due to corrupted objects). I plan to try to fix the problem using solutions I've seen shared in this forum.

Here is an image of the corrupted lot in Forgotten Hollow.
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@playertrait What issue do you have exactly with this lot ? There's a few corruption threads in this forum so just checking if it's the same as OP.
Hi Crin, my issue is identical to OP's with the exception that it's occurring in Forgotten Hollow instead of Willow Creek. Here are details:
Product: The Sims 4
Platform: PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.106.148.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? all
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Place the "Grand Castle Estate" lot in Fledermaus Bend in Willow Creek. Purchase as Straud, convert to a Residential Rental, decorate the interior, subdivide into three units, move in some households (e.g. the Noble, Rebellious, and Virtuous Vampires). (You can find the lot I created on the gallery as "Vampire Castle Estate" by Cyberpreppy.) Play normally by playing the tenants or having other Sims try to visit the tenants.
What happens when the bug occurs? After the bug occurs, the original building on that lot will still appear when viewed in the world map. Even when demolished first hand. The image of the residential lot seems to be added to the map's background, appearing behind the square that designates the lot location, and behind any other lots placed in that location. Other lots placed in that location can be played normally, even though they appear superimposed over the now-gone residential lot.
What do you expect to see? When the residential lot is removed from the location, it should no longer appear on the map.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes, many. The bug persists after removing mods.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? It appears due to the For Rent expansion.
I've attached a better image of the problem. It's the map of Forgotten Hollow, cropped to focus on Fledermaus Bend. You can see that the building (I've been thinking of it as the "ghost castle") seems part of the background, behind the square lot indicator.
