Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Installation of For Rent; the issue occured both on the release version as well as the patch released a few days after

Is it normal that the game doesn't fill automatically empty units? I am playing as tenant, it's weird to live alone in the building, and i don't really want to have to make my own sims to put in units. All the residencial lots has been filled by the game.

    @NeverSeemsToEnd

In Tomarang there are two prebuilt residental rentals. The one to the south comes with renters while the single unit to the north have no renter. the two normal residentials do come with inhabitants. The game will not by itself fill empty lots or units. There exist Mods that will.

Empty rental units are never filled with townies which (as far as I can tell) is what's supposed to happen; even with all neighborhood stories enabled as well as on a new save and after having repaired my game through the EA app launcher.

    Thanks for any help!

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All Expansions, Game Packs include Parenthood, Dine Out, DHD, A lot of stuff packs including Tiny Living, Paranormal, Home Chef Hustle etc.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Move a Sim into a FULLY VACANT Residential Rental building. When they move in, the Building / Landlord will be an NPC like Panya Li. Even after a week of playing, NO NEW NEIGHBOURS. Neighbourhood stories turned on.
What happens when the bug occurs? There's no neighbours living in the vacant apartments. In City Living, eventually empty apartments have Sims move into them. I do not understand why this is not happening on the For Rent Residential Rentals.
What do you expect to see? Neighbours should move in with neighbourhood stories, and also the "Fill Vacant Lots" function which is also turned on.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.

    Hi there,

Has anyone else experienced an issue where:

    1) you make a brand new apartment building / residential rental that's completely vacant.

    2) You move a Sim into one of the empty units, so say the building has 6 units, and you move into unit 2.

    3) Your landlord or building owner is an NPC like Panya Li. No Sim you made owns this building or rental building

    4) Even after living there a week and in the grace period, no one ever moves into the building with you.

I know Residential Rentals and City Living Apartments are different, but neighbourhood stories works for them where people will move in and out of City Living Apartments. Why does this not happen in For Rent. I would understand this if I played a Sim like Nancy Landgraab who owned the Residential Rental, and because I controlled them I must determine who can live in the building as a tenant -

However in this scenario because I only moved a Sim in as a tenant, and the game has designated an NPC to be the Landlord, how do other Sims autonomously move into the building with neighbourhood stories / "fill vacant lots" all turned on and enabled?

    Thank you.

I tried using MC Command Center but this mod does not seem to work for residential rentals.
